ST 34 Acupuncture Point(Liangqiu) belongs to the Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangming,which is commonly used for acute stomach pain, mastitis, hematuria, swelling and pain of knee, paralysis of the lower limbs and other diseases, puncture 0.5 to 0.8 cun straight.

What is the meaning of Liangqiu
LiangQiu:”Liang”,the beam.”Qiu”, Hill, the mound. The name of “Liangqiu” means that the work of this point is to restrict the water of the stomach meridian to flow down. The substance of this point is the ground meridian water from ST 33(Yinshi) point. After reaching this point,since it is located in protuberance part of muscle,so it can restrict the water of the stomach meridian to flow down what only overflow passing by, as if water overflow the beam,hence the name.
