ST 33 Acupuncture Point(Yinshi) belongs to the Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangming,which is commonly used for knee joint and surrounding soft tissue diseases, knee joint pain, paralysis of leg and knee, poor extension and flexion, lower extremity swelling, athlete’s foot, low back pain, abdominal distension, and abdominal pain,puncture 1 to 1.5 cun.

What is the meaning of Yinshi

Yinshi:”Yin”,refers to water.”Shi”,market,refers to gather. The name of “Yinshi” means that the ground meridians of the Stomach Meridian converge here. The substance of this point is the ground meridian water from ST 31(Biaoguan), which is the extravasation water from the soil of the spleen.Since it is locaed in depression,so the ground meridian converge here,hence the name.
