ST 41 Acupuncture Point(Jiexi) belongs to the Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangming,which is commonly used for headache, dizziness, swelling and pain of eyes, abdominal distension, constipation, madness, paralysis of the lower limbs, weakness of the ankles, etc. puncture 0.5 to 0.8 cun straight.
ST 41 Acupuncture Point Location
On the midpoint of the transverse crease of the ankle, approximately level with the tip of the external malleolus, in a depression between the tendons of extensor digitorum longs and hallucis longus.
What is the meaning of Jiexi
Jiexi:”Jie” means to divide; “Xi,Ravine,refer to merdian water.The name of “Jiexi” means that the ground meridian mater of the stomach meridian overflows in all directions from here. The substance of this point is the ground meridian from ST 40(Fenglong) point, After reaching this point, Since the narrow channel of this point, the ground water will overflow in all directions outside the meridian,hence the name.
ST 41 Acupuncture Point Usage
- Headache, dizziness, madness.
- Bloating, constipation.
- Paralysis of lower limbs, swelling and pain of ankles.

- Press PC 6 (Neiguan) and SJ 5(Waiguan) for 3 minutes, then Press ST 36(Zusanli) for 3 minutes and finally Press ST 41(Jiexi) for 3 minutes,which can relieve gastroenteritis.
