ST 6 Acupuncture Point(Jiache) belongs to Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangming,which is commonly used for toothache, facial nerve palsy, parotitis, mandibular arthritis, puncture 0.5 cun straight.

What is the meaning of Jiache

Jiache:”Jia”,refer to this point is located on the cheek. “Che”, vehicle. The name of “Jiache” means that the function of this point is to transport the Qi of Stomach Meridian to the head. The substance of this point is the Qi from ST 5(Daying) point. After reaching this point, the Qi is transported to the head through the Stomach Meridian due to the heart fire,like vehicle transportation, hence the name.

For relieve facial paralysis

First press GB 14(Yangbai) acupoint for 5 seconds, then massage ST 4(Dicang) acupoint for 5 seconds, then massage ST 2(Sibai) acupoint for 1 minute, and finally press ST 6(Jiache) and LI 4(Hegu) acupoints for 5 seconds,which can relieve facial paralysis if long-term massage it;

For relieve mumps

Rub ST 6 acupoint fro 100 to 200 times a day with the pad of your thumb, which can treat mumps, mandibular arthritis and so on. (Usually, when washing your face, gently tap ST 6 and the surrounding skin for 1 to 3 minutes each time.).

Moxibustion therapy

Moxibustion on ST 6 with moxa sticks for 10 to 15 minutes,which can treat cerebrovascular diseases and goiter.
