ST 3 Acupuncture Point(Juliao) belongs to the Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangming,which is commonly used for facial paralysis, eyelid tremulous, nasal congestion, epistaxis, toothache, and trigeminal neuralgia,puncture 0.3 to 0.5 cun oblique or flat.

What i s the meaning of Juliao
Juliao:”Ju”,great or large, meaning the area covered by the Qi of this point is large. “Liao”, pore. The name of “Juliao” means that the Qi of the heaven of Stomach Meridian cools down rain and drop to the ground. The substance of this point is from ST 2(Sibai) acupoint, which turns into rain and drop after reaching this acupoint, and because this acupoint is located in the upper part of the heaven,the area covered by rain falling on the ground is large.However, Since it is very small rain that falls on the ground, such as leaking from the pore,hence the name.
ST 3 Acupuncture Point Usage
Facial paralysis, eyelids tremulous, epistaxis, toothache, swollen lips and cheeks.
Clinical:Facial nerve palsy, trigeminal neuralgia, toothache, rhinitis, etc.
ST 3 Acupuncture Point Therapy
Use the index fingers of both hands to press ST 3(Juliao) acupoints on both sides in a clockwise for 1 to 3 minutes, it can restrain skin of face, eliminate swelling of cheeks, beautify and keep skin smooth and moisturized,and prevent from facial paralysis if long-term massage it;
Use the thumb, index finger or the palm of both hands to press ST3(Juliao) acupoints on both sides for 10 to 20 times,then use the thumb, index finger or palm of both hands to press LI 20(Yingxiang) acupoints on both sides from inside to outside through ST 3(Juliao) stopping at SI 18(Quanliao) point, repeat it for 1 to 3 minutes,which can prevent and treat the symptoms of nasal congestion and runny nose, head pain, toothache, gum swelling and pain caused by cold.
Compatibility of ST 3 acupoint
Combined with Dicang and Jiache point to treat facial paralysis;
Combined with HeGu point to treat toothache.
