SP 20 Acupuncture Point(Zhourong) belongs to the Spleen Meridian of Foot-Taiyin,which is commonly used for cough, reversed flow of qi, fullness of the chest and thigh,puncture obliquely or flat outward 0.5 to 0.8 cun.

What is the meaning of Zhourong

Zhou Rong: “Zhou” means spread all over. “Rong” refers to flourish. The name of “Zhourong” means that a lot of the ground water of Spleen Meridian evaporates into Qi of the heaven. Although this point belongs to Spleen Meridian, but no Qi of Spleen meridian reach to this point due to the dispersion of SP 20(Xiongxiang) point. The substance of this point is the ground water from above this point. After reaching here, a lot of the ground water evaporates into Qi of the heaven due to absorbing heat,the producing Qi is like blooming everywhere,and the spleen soil also returns its original dry, hence the name.

Cough, wheezing, fullness of chest and hypochondriac, pleurisy, lung abscess, bronchiectasis, intercostal neuralgia, loss of appetite, etc.

Massage therapy

Put the index finger, middle finger, and ring finger together, use the pad of finger to Press SP 20(ZhouRong) point with moderate intensity, once every morning and evening, each time for about 3 minutes, and then massage Tanzhong point for 2 minutes,which can relieve fullness of chest.

Moxibustion therapy

Mild moxibustion SP 20(Zhourong) with moxa sticks for 5 to 20 minutes, once a day,It can relieve cough, chest and hypochondriac pain.
