What is the meaning of Guanchong
GuanChong:Guan,Gateway,Chong,rush out. The name of “Guanchong” means that the hot water-qi of the Sanjiao Meridian rushes out the body surface Meridians from here, and the yin water-qi is blocked inside. The substance of this acupoint is the hot water-qi rushing out of the Sanjiao Meridian, and the liquid water-qi cannot go out of the body surface due to insufficient pressure,like gateway block.hence the name.

SJ 1 Acupuncture Point Therapy
For sore throat
Use the tip of thumb to press GuanChong acupoint on the other hand from left to right for 1 to 3 minutes,once a day in the morning and evening, which is beneficial for blood circulation and dredging collaterals and preventing sore throat.
Press Taiyang acupoint with the thumbs of both hands in clockwise and counterclockwise for 9 times each, and then press Cuanzhu, Yuyao, Yangbai, Sibai, and Yingxiang point for 15 seconds each with the middle finger, and then use the index finger or middle finger to press Baihui acupoint on the top of the head for 2 minutes, and finally press Guanchong acupoint for 30 times,which can relieve headache.
Moxa moxibustion on Guanchong acupoint for 5 to 10 minutes,or 1 to 3 unit.
Compatibility of SJ 1 acupoints
Combined with Neiguan and Renzhong point to treat heatstroke and fainting.
Combined with Shaoshang and Shaoze point to treat swelling and sore throat.
Combined with RenZhong and LaoGong point to treat heatstroke.
Combined with Fengchi and Shangyang point to treat fever without sweating.
