SJ 3 Acupuncture Point(Zhongzhu) belongs to the San Jiao Meridian of Hand-Shaoyang,which is commonly used for headache, swelling and pain of eyes, tinnitus, deafness, throat disorder and other head and face disease; shoulder, back, elbow, arm pain and numbness etc.
SJ 3 Acupuncture Point Location
With fist clenched on dorsum of the hand between the 4th and 5th metacarpal bones in a depression proximal to the 4th Metacarpalphalangeal joint.
What is the meaning of Zhongzhu
Zhongzhu:Zhong,opposite to the outside, refers to the inside of point.Zhu, meaning a small piece of land or waterside. The name of “Zhongzhu” means that the spleen dust from the Qi of Sanjiao meridian gathers here. The substance of this acupoint is the water-qi from SJ 2 acupuncture point(Yemen). After reaching this acupoint, the dust of the spleen that descends here and forms a small piece of land near to the meridian waterside, hence the name .

Massage therapy
- Press Zhongzhu point with the pad of your thumb for 1 to 3 minutes, once a day in the morning and in the evening, It can relieve shoulder, back, elbow and arm soreness, inability to flex and extend fingers, prevent shoulder periarthritis,swelling and pain of joint if long-term massage it.
- When you suddenly feel dizzy,take a deep breath and press Zhongzhu point for 6 seconds,and then slowly exhale and press it again. Alternate left and right, 5 times each,which is beneficial for relieve dizziness.
