What is the meaning of Tianfu

Tianfu,Tian,refers to the Heaven,Fu,refers to gateway. The name of “Tianfu” means that this acupoint is the gate of the lung meridian, where the yang-qi is transferred to the heavens. The substance of this point is transported from the Yunmen point. Compared with the temperature at the Tianfu point, the temperature of the Qi from the Yunmen point is still high,so the Qi at the Tianfu point is still heat dissipation, condensation, and cold drop.The yang-qi of heat dissipated go to the heaven. The name of “Tianfu” is to emphasize this change of Qi in the acupoint, hence the name.
