HT 6 Acupuncture Point(YinXi) belongs to the Heart Meridian of Hand-Shaoyin,which is commonly used for heartache, palpitations, hectic fever and night sweat, vomiting blood, epistaxis, sudden loss of voice and other diseases.

0.5 cun above the wrist crease on the radial side of the flexor carpi ulnaris tendon, on the HT 3HT 7 line.

What is the meaning of Yinxi

YinXi:Yin, water. Xi,pore. The name of Yinxi means the water-qi of the heart meridian flowing back to the heart meridian from the acupoint. The substance of this point is the water-qi of ground meridian from HT 5 point(Tongli). Because this point has ground pores that communicate with the inner meridians of the heart meridian, the water-qi return to the inner meridian of the heart meridian from the ground pores of this point,hence the name.

HT 6 Acupuncture Point Usages

  • Acute chest and/or heart pain from Blood stasis.  Palpitations, although HT 5 may be better.
  • Night sweats, Steaming Bone Disorders, tonify Yin and Blood.  Often used with SI 3 for nightsweats.
  • Counterflow qi – panic attacks, vomiting blood, nosebleeds.
  • Acute emotional disturbances – mania, anxiety, shock, sudden loss of voice.

Moxibustion therapy

Moxibustion at Yinxi acupoint with moxa moxibustion for 10 to 15 minutes, or 3 to 5 unit.

Massage therapy

Use your fingers to press the Yinxi acupoints for 5 minutes each time, and massage 2 times a day to prevent and treat heart disease.
