What is the meaning of Yanglingquan

Yanglingquan:”Yang” means Yang-Qi. “Ling” ,mound. “Quan”,spring. The name of “Yanglingquan” means that a lot of the meridian water of Gallbladder Meridian is gasified here. The substance of this point is the meridian water flows down from GB 33(XiYangguan) point, and the hot yang-qi from the lower knee of Gallbladder Meridian. After both Qi meet, the dust of spleen that rises with the Gallbladder Meridian absorbs dampness and descends to the ground. The meridian water of the upper meridians also penetrates into the soil of spleen. The soil of spleen accumulate around this point, and the dampness in the soil o  spleen is vaporized,so this acupoint is like accumulate place where the dust of spleen,hence the name.

Hemiplegia, paralysis of lower limbs, numbness, knee patella pain, athlete’s foot, flank pain, bitter in the mouth, vomiting, jaundice, convulsions.

Clinical: sciatica, hepatitis, cholecystitis, biliary ascariasis, knee arthritis etc;
